Our Mission:
For every young professional of color across Boston to connect, gain access, and
enhance their exposure to their peers, local businesses, spaces, and industry leaders.
Key Takeaways:
Connection: Connection to the diverse young professional population that makes up Greater Boston including peer-to-peer daily networking opportunities as well as social, community and culturally immersive experiences.
Access: Access to well over 30 different organizations/initiatives that contribute to the thriving ecosystem of our region. Participants also gain physical access to a minimum of 10 of the 23 neighborhoods that make up Boston including key landmarks from greenspaces to historical trails and buildings. In essence, this festival provides access to people, places, policies, and organizations.
Exposure: Individual and/or brand exposure to C-Suite leaders for organizations of all sizes as well as Boston’s best restaurants, start-ups, recruiters, and community organizations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
In his stirring speech at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke
of "the fierce urgency of now" - the pressing need for immediate action and lasting change in the face of racial injustice. Over half a century later, the Fierce Urgency of Now Festival strives to carry Dr. King's message and mission
forward by forging a more equitable, inclusive future for Greater Boston.
The festival brings young professionals of color together with business, civic, and community leaders and organizations
as well as other young professionals in order to build connection, strengthen community, and
ignite positive change.

City Awake, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's young professional network, partners with individuals and organizations of all sizes, across the Greater Boston region to host a series of events throughout the decentralized 5-Day Fierce Urgency of Now festival.
